Current Issue:

went 2-3 months with zero issues with nearly the same back-end login procedure..

now we are dealing with cloudflare bans on our backend server from discord..

does not appear to be caused by ‘us’ by any means.. I sent a support ticket via onrender they cant tell me much.. sent one to discord and just have to wait, likely never get a response there..

likely the cause is that because the server shares an IP address with many other services which we cant control.. onrender.com is a free service.. it does have paid tier but according to support this doesnt mean we have a unique IP and wouldnt help..

Need to find a long term solution to a backend webserver that cost no more than $10 per month preferably to host the backend server.. it must have an ip that isnt shard amongst 100’s of instances..

I managed to login with local server just fine so I decided to switch our server to another area (oregon to ohio) and its fine now.. so will see what happens..

Current Solution:

created a new server named ‘esportsdash’ rather than the obsfucated one..

created a new release pointing to new login servers

now it works…

Possible Solutions

1. Host 2-3 instances of the same webserver .
   • pros
     • this assures that we never have issues with uptime or bandwidth
     • this will not assure all 3 servers wont be attacked somehow to be cloudflare banned in the future
   • cons
     • even alternative servers could be banned
     • will cause to go over available 750 free uptime hours without paying
     • if main server becomes banned, then the secondary server will have to keep launching causing huge overage and downtime before end of month
     • paid service would be required at $20 per month
2. Host 1 alternative instance for free to act as a backup
   • pros
     • will require another email
     • setup in desktop app to try main server, get bad request then reach out to second server instead and hope for the best
     • or have main server send request to secondary server this way client side only makes one outgoing request rather than 2
   • cons
     • second server could end up having a cloudflare ban as well..
